Southend Vehicle Finishers (SVF) is new to Sikkens, but has taken to its products and services very swiftly.
Essex-based SVF moved into a 15,000 sq ft workshop in August 2007, and has subsequently increased throughput. Current throughput is 65 cars a week, but this is set to increase to 70. This is a dramatic increase from the 45 cars the company could handle before the move – and started using Sikkens paint.
“We thought the move to a new facility would be an excellent time to start working with a completely new paint provider,” explains MD, Eugene Ryan. “Akzo Nobel is a real value-adding partner.”
After successfully running SVF for 15 years, Eugene bought the company four years ago. In that short time he has doubled its size. The firm is working towards PAS 125, is proud to have RBS and RSA among its major work providers, and is talking manufacturer approvals with several OEMs, including Hyundai, Audi and Land Rover.
With everything falling into place, Eugene is totally committed to further quality investment and sees forward-thinking as key to company growth.
“Sikkens products offer an excellent finish, and the aftermarket support is brilliant,” he says. “The quality finishes we achieve from using Sikkens has really given us the confidence to move forward.”
SVF has been trading for 38 years in total, and currently has 30 members of staff.
